This plump ring is hand-built from rich red clay, and its upper arc is dipped in a sage glaze flecked with sandy gold and hints of turquoise. Below a clean diagonal line, the raw clay is left bare in a warm plum-brown. The two finishes feel velvety to the touch, and the palette is as calm and earthy as a desert hillside.
Its generous curves and smaller center opening give it a sculptural, grounded presence. Slip a stem in at the top, guide it across the open center, and set it into the hole on the other side, and a single sprig of greenery becomes an effortless arrangement. Each piece is made individually, with subtle variations in form and glaze that make every vase one of a kind.
